Configurable tagging labels for areas in system

Overview

Introduce a configurable tagging feature that allows users to create custom labels and apply them to relevant records across the system, helping them organise, categorise and identify related information more easily.

Requirement

Users should be able to create and manage their own set of labels and apply them across different areas of the system, including:

• Contacts and Contact Types

• Projects

• Credential Types and Credentials

• Issuable Types and Issuables

• Other relevant system records

Labels would be configurable to suit each organisation's needs. For example, a user could create a label called Installations and apply it to relevant projects, contacts and credentials, making it easier to identify and group related records across the system.

Suggested Approach

Provide a centralised way for users to create, edit and manage custom labels, with the ability to apply multiple labels to individual records where required.

The labels should be available across supported areas of the system, allowing the same label to be used on different record types. This would provide a consistent way to categorise information based on an organisation's own processes and requirements.
